In Italy still! Spent the last few days in Venice where I went (drunken) gondola riding with Rosie, Michelle, Eva and Junko (oh and our gondolierre Luigi and our bottle of local brew white wine which was only a few Euro per bottle!), then into Pisa (yes, I saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa) to Florence, where we went out for a traditional Tuscan meal and out to a few bars and clubs and had a big trashy night at a nightclub called Space Electronica Disco where we danced on glass podiums suspended from the ceiling. Spent yesterday at the Vatican and St Peters Bascilica and I went to the Sistine Chapel as well. Pretty sure the Pope isnt living in poverty as priests are instructed to because I have BEEN to where he lives and it is pretty ornate.
Today I saw the Colosseum and the Forum and the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon and Spanish Steps and walked all around Rome. It seemed like such a huge city looking at a map but the walk from the Vatican to the Spanish Steps would have taken about twenty minutes if we walked fast. There was a wedding happening in the Pantheon this morning when we were there and I got booted out for only wearing a singlet top.
Anyway we have a big night ahead of us at the bar at the campsite and I have eaten SO much pizza and gelati in the past few days I want to have a quick nap before dinner and drinks. Tomorrow we are off to the Isle of Capri and to Sorrento for the night and the night after that we get to SLEEP ON REAL BEDS not blow up mattresses on the Adriatic Ferry on the way to Greece! I am still enjoying camping and for the first time in my life I am sleeping really well (I am definately worn out every day) but it will be nice to not have to unplug my mattress every second morning and roll up my sleeping bag!
Oh yeah and the food in Italy is AWESOME! Had a huge traditional Tuscan meal the other night. Bruschetta, basil and tomato pesto, margherita pizza, tiramusu and shots of limoncello! I think I have eaten pizza every day since I have been here, and gelati too. Luckily I walk so much I think it all works out in the end.
Will probably update next from Greece, once I get to Corfu I have a few
days to relax. It will be nice to have a few days where I donàt
have anywhere to see in a short space of time. I also desperately
need to catch up on sleep.

Hey Mel! Im having a FANTASTIC time! And it took a while for the Birkis to wear in but apparently we are going to visit an outlet near Amsterdam although perhaps it is in Germany, not sure...
